So, you found my blog.

I used to live in a log house, with an old broken down barn that gave this blog it’s name.  My house and my barn were in the backwoods of British Columbia and I shared it with The Man. We did the best we could with what we had.

Life changed and we found our selves moving to a new location that is very different from what we had grown accustom to. We are still doing the best we can with what we have.

Oh, in case you are wondering, this blog has an unofficial mascot.  Her name is Debbie Wigglyhead.  She was a gift from my mother who found her in the Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Store and bought her because she was the spitting image of a doll I shared many adventures with when I was a little girl.

She is a tomboy, rebellious but kind-hearted, and drinks too much.  Like us, she is trying to craft a thrifty life but she has the added challenge of doing so while very small.  She is a reminder that good things can happen if you believe and are willing to change your perspective.

This blog is a journey towards crafting a better life!  I hope you will come with us.
