The beginning of June 2019
In which we save a little money, spend a whole lot more and think about the future.
Well, here is my chance to “vaguebook.”
The Man and I have been re-evaluating how we live our lives. We have had moments of blinding clarity and moments of crippling doubts. We have made decisions and started the wheels spinning. It is all down to fate now. I am being deliberately vague because I don’t want to jinx our plans and because the reasons behind our decisions are private. When what happens happens, you, dear readers, will be among the first to know.
But what I can tell you is that wow, it can be hard to remain frugal when you are figuring out if you should turn to your left, hold your course, or make a right hand turn. I think that we often do not appreciate how much emotional energy it takes to keep to a budget!
It was only luck that saves us this time around. I blew the diminished emergency fund on our emergency bathroom reno but fortunately, the mailman delivered a tax refund and some back pay. Just enough to keep the wolves from the door as we needed those funds to make an unexpected trip and pay the property taxes.
There may be changes coming to this blog – or there may not. We will both have to wait and see.
