Frugal Endeavours

November 17 to November 22, 2015

A very quiet week that involved a lot of housecleaning because we had company for a few days. There is nothing like company to motivate you to give your house a good scrub. The arrival of guests also motivated us to finish installing the kitchen floor using the materials we purchased almost a year ago! Our old wood floor was full of splinters and it was impossible to keep clean. This is a very welcome improvement. I did focus on using up food items languishing in the fridge. It was the tail end of a bottle of Bailey’s but I did save it from going to waste.

No great, newsworthy money-saving strides were taken this week but maybe this is the real face of living frugally. Maybe true thrifty living is a list of things you don’t do and the homey, unremarkable, everyday chores that take time but don’t require any financial outlay.

What was your week like?
